The SCE PTA has proposed the following updates to our Bylaws and Standing Rules for the 2024-2025 school year.  We will vote on these changes at our Membership meeting on May 10, 2024. 

1. Bylaws Update: Local dues update to $7.00 (from $5.50)

• Rationale for change: State PTA required dues have increased. Individual dues will now be $12 per member (up from $10). National PTA Dues is $2.25 per member; State PTA Dues is now $2.75 per member. $7 per membership stays with the local unit.

2. Standing Rules Update: Update Healthy Lifestyles Committee Chair to incorporate PTA Safety Liaison responsibilities and rename the role as "Health and Safety."

• Rationale: The roles and needs of our PTA and school community are ever-evolving. To best support the updates to our school partnership and community education, this role will chair Healthy Lifestyles Week, serve as the Spring Creek Elementary Parent Safety representative in RISD (currently exists on all RISD campuses), and work with our school administration on health and safety initiatives, parent education and communications directly related to the role.
