Fall & Spring Fundraisers

Each year, the SCE PTA conducts two fund raisers to support the year’s operating budget—a cash donation drive in the fall and a silent auction during the Spring Fling Carnival in the spring.  Funds collected are used to support programs and activities both at Spring Creek and within the RISD community.

Reach for the Stars Cash Donation Drive--September 1-30, 2017

We are excited to launch the Spring Creek Reach for the Stars cash donation drive.  Instead of asking our families to sell products in which partial funds go to a third-party vendor, we are asking each family to make a cash donation to the Spring Creek PTA. Your donation is 100% tax-deductible and goes to improving your child’s educational experience at school.

How the Funds are Used

On average, SCE PTA spends approximately $150 per student each year to support programs like Accelerated Reader, author visits, end of grading period events, family engagement programs, parent education, enrichment clusters, field trips, library support and much more. Funds raised will go to support these programs. For a complete list of all SCE PTA programs, go to>Our PTA>Programs.

Our fundraising goal for the Reach for the Stars donation drive is $20,000.

Teachers will have a chance to win gift cards to use for classroom supplies!   Be sure to include your student’s name and teacher when making your donation.

Class Change Challenge

This year the students will get in on the fun with the Class Change Challenge during the last week of the donation drive. Each class will compete to win great prizes like a popsicle party from Steel City Pops, a water balloon party or extra recess.  More details will be coming soon.

Taking an Extra Step

Spread the word!  Ask grandparents, friends, neighbors, coworkers and extended family to donate. Also, many companies offer matching donation programs. Check with your company’s HR department to see if matching donations are available. Last year, we raised more than $1,450 in matched donations!
